Travel with me: Rome ❤

(Note: none of the pictures belong to me, but hopefully after my travels I'll have ones just like them ;) All rights reserved to the photographers)

What comes to mind when you hear the word Rome? Food? Romance? History? Ancient Rome? Coffee? Landmarks?

Rome has all of that and more and I cannot wait to visit there one day, it seems like a place so rich in culture with vibrant people and a whole range of delectable foods.

Rome is the capital city of Italy and the capital of Lazio (a region in Rome). Rome is home to over 2 million residents and attracts around 30 MILLION tourists per year!

Airlines such as EasyJet and RyanAir fly to Rome as well as airlines such as British Airways making it a destination that is easily accessible to all sorts of people with all sorts of budgets.

Rome is also known as the 'Eternal City' because the ancient Romans believed that no matter what happened to any other civilisations and countries, Rome would last forever and it's done a pretty good job so far haha.

Romance in Romaaa

When I think of Rome I almost always think of Romanceeee❤...And I think movies have a lot to blame.
The Italian stallion sweeping a woman off her feet saying "Mamma Mia!" lol, It's probably fiction but hey it's a nice thought.

Movies

There are many films with links to Italy (not Rome as such), like:

Under The Tuscan Sun

Great film! The story of a lady who becomes divorced and decides to leave her life in the U.S to start fresh in Italy.

Letters To Juilet

Not your ordinary romantic tale, a girl sends a reply letter to a romantic letter she discovers to help an elderly woman find her true love.
To Rome With Love

This is a new film which I believe is not out yet but I can't wait to see it! It tells the story of a number of different people in Italy and the romantic things and predicaments they get into, think movies like 'Valentines Day' 'New Years Eve'

There seems to be many things to do in Rome such as visiting the beautiful Colosseum monument, the Trevi Fountain, the incredible Pantheon and of course going shopping! But what do you think? Would you give Rome a visit or perhaps you've been before!

Reasons to smileee❤

(note: pictures DO NOT belong to me, all rights reserved to each photographer)

I didn't plan on doing this post but then I found an old notebook of mine which had some encouraging words I thought I should share. I basically made a list a while back of why to smile when I was feeling a bit down and here it is!

- I am alive!  There are many people from yesterday who didn't make it into today but we did! We have the opportunity to be better, be happier and start again!❤

- I am at university and have the opportunity to make great new friends! - Don't over think things, smile, be positive and happy, talk, know your worth, look for new opportunities, new routes and new chances!

- God still loves me! - I believe God loves us! Everyone of us whether you believe in Him or not, the creator of the universe cares about each of our days and what we go through, If that's not a reason to smile I don't know what is haha!

- I have a great family and great friends! - even if we sometimes feel alone knowing that there is at least one person who will listen to you moan or will be a shoulder to cry on is a great feeling. Appreciate your friends, love and cherish them and be the best friend you can be back.

- No one is out to get you! - sometimes it may feel like people don't like you but I'm pretty sure most of the time it's in our heads lol and if they really don't like you then they're missing out and focus on the ones that like you.

- Don't assume people won't like you! - Kinda similar to the one above, but give people a try! If you assume the worst, the worst may happen and if you hide yourself away from people how will they ever see the true you :)

So there you go! Just a few tips to get you smiling and a few things to think about! Here are a few other pictures to brighten your day ❤

None of these made you smile? Can't say I didn't try heehee, smile anyway :D

My weekend! (1st June - 3rd June)

The weekend of the 1st of June to the 3rd of June 2012 was so much fun! Thought I'd write a bit about it... (Unfortunately this has nothing to do with the Queens Jubilee but I love her really lol :D

First was the university Jubilee Summer Ball!
The summer ball was £40, held at uni and expected were acts such as Labrinth, Kids in Glass houses & Rev Run!...however it did not end up this way lol Rev Run didn't turn up due to "unforeseen circumstances" but Labrinth was still pretty good (even though he swore a lot! lol)
We still had a good time though! Here's what I wore and a few pics of the event....

(My getting ready essentials lol )

Sunday: Big Church Day Out!

The Big Church Day Out is an event that takes place over two days every year at Wiston House (kind of near Brighton), me and my sister have been every year for the past 3 years now and it is BRILLIANT! We went on the Sunday this year and had a blast! The journey there and back was very long but not as long as it could have been trust me lol (My bad organisational skills! Thank goodness for a sister who can take control haha)
We reached the grounds at about 1pm - 1:30pm and hadn't missed any of our favourite artists! We managed to see people such as Casting Crowns, Israel Houghton, Martin Smith, Muyiwa, PHIL WICKHAM and more lol...here's a few pics and videos.....

(and this was on the way there! haha!)

 Papped at the portaloo lol

 Jahaziel! :D

Phil Wickham! Omgsh my heart lol!
Israel & the new breed (can probably hear me harmonizing badly in the background.....just ignore that haha!)

Israel Houghton walking past ever so casually haha
One of Israel Houghtons singers!....lush! lol

Was lovely to see everyone praising God and enjoying the music! Got to see and meet some incredibly talented musicians/artists too!
Phew! I know this post was very picture heavy but I hope you enjoy!
