Have yourself a healthy little Christmas!

The words "healthy" & "Christmas" can often seem like a oxymoron and to be honest...torture lol! But it doesn't have to be.....

I became inspired to do this post when I came across this cute picture on Leona Lewis' blog http://www.lee-loy.com ...

Look at their little facess lol, will deffo be making these this year.

It got me thinking what else can I make and do to make this Christmas special AND healthy at the same time? (So I don't go back to uni like a dumpling lol!!)

Banana loaf!

Instead of the normal chocolate cakes lying around you could try your hand at making a banana loaf/bread/cake! They're really simple to make and you could substitute sugar for honey or get the sweetness from icing Christmas trees on top, its also a great way of using up any old bananas.

Hot spiced drinks!

Instead of the usual calorie laden hot chocolates try a hot spiced drink! My favourite is apple and they make the house smell amazingg.

Salads! and lots of them

Chicken, prawn, fruit.. you can make any kind of salad just pile it high and make it pretty!

Games!

As well as watching movies all day try some games! Gets the family involved and gets you at least a little bit active lol, dance mats or Nintendo Wii's as well as Xbox Kinect's are great for this or just play good old fashioned charades. You could also play a massive family game of Hide & Seek...epic!

Popcorn!

Instead of too many crisps and snacks buy a packet of popcorn kernels (Tesco do them for around 89p) put them in an airtight container and stick them in the microwave! No oil, no extra gunk and you can get creative with toppings!

The most important thing is to just enjoy your Christmas! For people away at uni it maybe the first time you've been with all of your family for a long time, so just kick back and enjoy and don't punish yourself too much because of treats!

First MAC purchase!

So I finally gave in and bought something by MAC! I have nothing against it I just could never afford anything haha, I went on a trip to Westfield in Stratford, London and thought I would pop in.

I've always heard about how good MAC's foundations are and the people who I see using them always have flawless looking skin and great coverage and I thought dammit I want that too! lol

I ended up purchasing the Matchmaster SPF 15 foundation which was around £24-£27 I believe.

My shade is 8.5 and I kind of thought it was a bit orange lol but I like it!

 I've had a lottt of compliments about my skin and asking what foundation I use etc and I am very happy! I have other foundations in my collection but I don't think I'll be turning back for a while.

The time I won hair....

Random title right lol!! but it's true! Diamond Hair UK (website found here) had a competition on their  Twitter page to win 3 bundles of Brazilian weave along with some other prizes, all you had to do was say who your fave celeb style is and why, here's part of my entry.....

Most people done their entries as a written paragraph but I thought I would think outside the box a little.

The hair came around 3 days from when I gave my address and the lengths and texture of weave I wanted (Wavy in inches 18, 20, 22) and the packaging was lovely...

.

And this is what it looks like on my head haha!

Winged glasses

You may remember a few posts ago I created a wishlist of a few things I really wanted to purchase... well I am slowly but surely starting to get them!...Hurray!

I've just come back from an amazing weekend in Essex with my best friends for one of their birthdays and last night a couple of us went to Lakeside!

We went into Forever 21 and my sister treated me to these awesome glasses which were a bargain at £3.99. They're winged like I always wanted and look really nice ( although I do feel a bit weird wearing them in public sometimes lol!)

My sis also got some nice ones too!

Autumn Style: Jumpers

As an August baby you may be surprised to hear that one of my favourite times of year is Autumn! I love the sun but there's something about a comfy outfit when colder weather strikes...makes me think of coffees, coats, warmth, friendship and so on!


Nicole Scherzinger had a spread in the October 2013 issue of Glamour Magazine where she sported the Autumn jumper look perfectly!

My mission recently has been to find some great Autumn jumpers to wear with leather jackets, leggings and boots!

Asos have a great range of jumpers, from sweaters to traditional chunky knits to unique designs like the one above which retails at £30 and can be found here

H&M have some great jumpers at £12.99 at the moment and this is one I love and actually bought myself! It's rather thin so would need to be paired with a jacket for colder days but the oversized feel and comfy shape means it's perfect for this time of year! Find it here

I love beige/cream jumpers in Autumn, dark colours are great but I feel fresh when I wear light colours, this one also from H&M retails at £14, is short at the front and longer in the back and has a silky feel, team with some leather look leggings, some boots and a leather jacket and you are good to go! As expected MissGuided.co.uk also have a fab range of jumpers, I love the look of this grey one with denim jean shorts, but pair with some tights so you don't freeze! Find this jumper here
